A recent survey from Technomic shows that restaurant attendance could decrease should Coronavirus become a full-blown pandemic. However as reported last week, takeaway orders could increase as customers avoid public places, but still continue to order their favourite food. Following the survey, it was shown that 32% of respondents said; that should Coronavirus become a bigger concern they would eat in a restaurant a lot less. This would be in an effort to avoid leaving the house unnecessarily. Although, another 30% believe the media is blowing the news out of proportion, considering the virus is only deadly to those of advanced age. Or those with pre-existing health conditions.

The quality of the marketing is seen as the most important factor when measuring a hotel’s success. With many organisations either performing their marketing in-house or relying on an agency that isn’t a hospitality specialist. All hotel owners and groups understand the importance of marketing, but they may not be going about it in the right way.

The purpose of the award is to give recognition to women who have thrived after overcoming adversity and for those who have excelled in their professional lives. Inspiring others to do the same. The award also aims to inspire other talented women to get involved in the hospitality industry as well as recognising the ones who already are.
Hotel chain SureStay are celebrating reaching the milestone of 300 hotels around the world. The chain is part of the BHW Hotel Group (BWH) along with Best Western Hotels. The news makes the company one of the fastest growing hotel brands in the world today. It’s also significant and encouraging news, showing that the industry is strong, and that growth is attainable even in times of crisis.
