The chief executive of UKHospitality has asked the UK Government to extend their support for the hospitality industry.
Representing the sector on the whole, Kate Nicholls provided her own analysis to the House of Commons Treasury Committee. Stating that more needs to be done to support the industry. Especially if the lockdown the UK is currently facing is to continue for an extended period of time. Read more about this story here.
Another three months of lockdown could be catastrophic for the hospitality industry. While many companies have been supported and potentially saved by the Government bailout schemes, a new report shows that nearly two-thirds of the industry could face closure if the lockdown continues for another three months. The current support provided may be enough for now, at least for some, but is unlikely to sustain hospitality businesses for longer than that. Read more here.

When could lockdown restrictions be lifted across the UK?
This is the question on everyone’s minds since the UK Government extended social distancing measures. While some countries are aiming to slowly begin this process in May, others are saying the UK could still face restrictions in June, July and beyond.
