Restaurant Marketing Ideas for June

Every month there are new opportunities for your restaurant to stand out and showcase the best features of your venue, draw in new customers, fill your tables and increase your bottom line. We’ve put together some great restaurant marketing ideas for June.

The trick to getting your marketing right, is knowing what these opportunities are, and planning your marketing efforts to take advantage of an already interested audience.

You may already be familiar with ‘hashtag days’ such as #meatfreemonday but there are also many themed or awareness events that you can get involved with. These range from single day events to monthly campaigns.

Our advice is to look at what works for you specifically.

Think creatively about what you can do to stand out and really promote your restaurant to its strengths.

Don’t try and involve yourself in everything; if a campaign or event doesn’t relate to your business, you’ll only do more harm than good trying to get involved!

For example – if your restaurant is a Rib House, then trying to promote yourself with a seafood awareness campaign won’t make any sense and will make others see you as opportunistic and irrelevant.

We’ve put together a comprehensive list so you can decide what works best for your venue and make it part of your restaurant marketing activities in June.

Some of the entries on this list are ‘National’ days for the UK, America, etc. but with Social Media making the world a more accessible place, there’s no harm in celebrating, even when you’re not a resident of the nation it initially started in.

When it comes to getting involved with events, they don’t necessarily have to be directly related to food.

For example – you might want to:

  • Run a late lunch campaign for National Leave the Office Early Day
  • Tell everyone what your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals are on World Environment Day
  • Or, if you’re an American style Diner – you might chose to celebrate American Eagle Day (a day to promote the symbol of the country and raise awareness for preservation of the breed) to show people that you’re not only committed to your theme, but also to helping the environment.

When choosing what to market, you need to keep in mind your brand voice, vision and goals. Ask yourself:

  • Does promoting my restaurant in association with this event make sense?
  • Does the event help me showcase something about my restaurant (either the venue or the menu)?
  • Do I understand what this event is and the type of content that’s appropriate for it?
  • Will my customers and new guests appreciate seeing this content?

Once you’ve asked yourself these questions and are certain that you’re improving your business by getting involved, then you should go ahead and do so!
